Another momentous event of 2009 was the tree that fell on our house. This has been a work of God. A week before it happened, Hubby and I were praying about moving out of the city. We told God—If you want it to happen, You have to make it happen. Then a week later, on a perfectly calm, non-windy, non-rainy, warm and beautiful day, a huge pine tree hit our house. We got a complete remodel of one-half of our house. I told you before I’d post before and after pictures. Here they are:
In this random picture, you can see so many things: our horrid white floors that were IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean, The VERY bright yellow and green walls, the small walkway between the fridge and the cabinets. Through that door is the dining room. The kitchen was very small and crammed with things. Along that wall wiht the fridge was also the washer and dryer.
In this picture you can see our dark panel walls, partially still wall-papered, the archaic, and the ugly heater thingy sticking out behind that I never trusted to turn on. To her right is the door into the kitchen.
This is our dining room ceiling. (We had just painted the dark panel a few weeks before this happened!)
Here's the tree going all the way through the kitchen floor.
This is me and my girls all dressed up to go to The Nutcracker on Christmas Eve, but you can see in the background how the wall is not there, the room is all opened up into one, with beautiful hardwood floors!
And here you can see my new laundry room and pantry!
As much as we love our house, especially all of these new additions, I believe that 2010 will see our house sold! As for what will come after, I’m not sure. I think we will be renting for a while, probably out in the country closer to our church, but as for long-term plans, we’ll see what He has in store for us!
